Everyone at one point of their life have felt some sort of depression. We have to understand that there are many different levels of depression from feeling down to clinical depression and unfortunately, having suicidal thoughts. Today, I am going to show you 5 tips you can do to get out of depression and feel on top of the world.
1.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A DAILY ROUTINE
Find something that’s going to keep you busy all day. Depression sucks all the energy out of you and eventually you’re going to enter this sorrowful, self pity stage where each day just melts into the next. However, if you have a daily routine, it fights depression and makes you feel in control of your life. For example, breakfast, school, gym, socialize, then go to bed. Of course, that was a very broad scenario, but all you want to make sure is that you’re pre-occupied with tasks you want to complete all day long.
2.MAKE YOURSELF FEEL BETTER
Sometimes depression comes in from the simple fact that you feel upset and unsatisfied with yourself. Whether you don’t like how you look or feel that you’re not good enough, you want to turn that around. It’s okay to splurge on that one shirt that you’ve been wanting or an expensive sneaker you had your eyes on. If it makes you feel better, so be it.
3.SET GOALS FOR YOURSELF
There is no better confidence boost than achieving a goal you set for yourself. Since you need an immediate boost, I recommend micro-goals, that can be achieved that same exact day. For example, you’re going to go to the gym today, run a mile, beat a personal and meet a new person. Doesn’t matter what it is, just set yourself one easy goal and achieve it.
4.DO SOMETHING YOU FEAR
When you’re feeling down, do something that you fear. Some have a fear of being alone or talking to girls. Whatever your fear, go out and do it. When you conquer that fear, you get a sudden rush of courage. In other words, it’s a natural high that you will shake you out of your depression.
5.REMOVE NEGATIVE PEOPLE
If you have toxic people around, that keep bring you down. When you’re depressed, they’re going to do what they do best and keep hammering at you. Make sure you surround yourself with friends and family that are positive and make you happy.
